Vanilla and Pear Baby Food Recipe
Homemade Vanilla And Pear Baby Food Puree Recipe for reusable food pouches by Little Mashies
Why is buckwheat a great baby food choice for reusable food pouches?
Ingredients:
2 ripe pears, cored and diced
1/4 tsp. pure vanilla paste or powder
1 cup water
Instructions:
Step 2: Add the buckwheat flour and vanilla extract. Cook for a further 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 3: Puree the pear and buckwheat mix in a food processor or blender, or mash with a fork for an older baby.
Step 4: If preparing your baby food recipe in bulk freeze the puree into ice-cube trays or spoon it straight into Little Mashies reusable food pouches and then store them in the fridge or freezer. For instructions on how to fill a refillable pouch you can read our blog. For info on how long to freeze specific baby foods for we have the information here.
Step 5: Label and date your homemade pouches so that you know when to use the puree by. There is a space on the back of the Little Mashies yoghurt and baby food pouches so that you can write all the details.
Step 6: To clean your reusable food pouches you can check out our Little Mashies video here. Little Mashies are see through when held towards light, so it is very easy to see that all of the food is washed out. Because of the specifically designed curved shape, all of the food washes straight out when held upside down under a tap. Little Mashies can also be used in the dishwasher and steam sterilisers, and are BPA free, Phthalate Free, and PVC free.

My little lady (almost one) has always been a pretty good eater, however once she decided that she wanted to feed herself it became tricky to get enough into her. She wouldn't let me feed her a good breakfast or anything that involved me using a spoon! So that basically meant no porridge or cereal, smoothies, soups, lentils etc... I always did a combo of baby lead weaning and me feeding her, however her Independent (show off) little brothers food was looking all to good and I was struggling to find ways to get her to eat without it all ending up a big mess on the floor or in the hi chair and not enough in her tummy. Then along came little mashies! Wow, what a difference! I can put anything in these puppies and she loves it!! Thanks so much for creating these pouches they are so easy to fill, and my little girl is happily feeding herself more veggies then I could ever imagine!! Hello, green smoothies!

I put off buying these after having purchased and used a different brand of reusable pouches that were difficult to use and clean. But I was spending $4 a day on squeezy yoghurts for my 5 and 2 year olds, so thought I'd give these a go. I'm really glad I did. They are super easy to clean, I just use the dishwand that I use for all my other dishes. I fill the pouches with yoghurt that I make at home which makes it a healthier and cheaper option. My only recommendation would be two sizes, I wouldn't mind a slightly larger volume. I have one of the special edition pouches which has one see through side, which I wish they all had to make filling easier (you can see just how much is in there) as well as easier to see what pouches are filled with what when you have a bunch in the fridge. All in all though, a great product, and fast delivery.

I absolutely love these. I steam all my food for my little one and its hard to find a good container that doesn't leak when I'm on the go with him. This product is amazing. Easy to fill and wash.
