Turkey, Capsicum And Sweet Potato Baby Puree

Capsicum (or bell pepper) is a good source of vitamin A, vitamin B6, lycopene and folate. That gives them an important role in preventing many deseases and keeping your baby in good health. In baby food capsicum can be baked, steamed or boiled before it is pureed. Each cooking method brings out different flavours and characteristics of the food.

I’ve got loads of recipes that contain capsicum, in my free baby food ebook. It goes through the different stages and has baby food recipes from starting solids all the way to 12mths+ that you can use with or without Little Mashies squeeze containers. To get your copy just go to pop in your email address and it will be delivered straight to your inbox. Don’t worry, your details are secure and will never be shared! Now for the recipe…

Turkey, Capsicum And Sweet Potato Baby Puree

300g of cooked turkey mince
1 cup capsicum, chopped
2 cup sweet potatoes, chopped

Step 1: Steam the potatoes and peppers in a stovetop steamer or a Beaba Baby Cook system.

Step 2: Meanwhile use a little oil and water and cook turkey in a deep skillet over medium heat for about 10 minutes.

Step 3: Puree all the vegetables in a food processor or blender, using a little water to get the desired smooth consistency (usually 1-2 tablespoons). You can also use breast milk or formula to mix with the puree.

Step 4: Stir the pureed vegetables through the turkey mince for an older baby or puree the mince with the vegetables for a younger baby.
