Spinach, Potato And Egg Yolk Baby Puree
Homemade spinach, potato and egg yolk baby food recipe for Little Mashies reusable food pouches
Egg yolk supplies your baby with all necessary nutrients, good cholesterol and iron necessary for mental development. It is one of those foods that is so packed with nutrients it's ideal for young children to have regularly.
1 cups of potato, peeled and diced
1/4 cup of spinach
1 boiled egg
Step 1: To boil an egg, place it in a saucepan. Cover with warm water by 1 inch and add a pinch of salt. Over medium heat, slowly bring to a boil. When you have reached a boil, let it cook for about 10 minutes. Move the egg to bowl filled with cold water. Let it cool for at least 5 minutes. Peel, cut in half and scoop out egg yolk. Babies are not recommended egg whites until after 1 year of age.
Step 2: Meanwhile, steam the diced potato in a stovetop steamer or a Beaba Baby Cook system for about 15 minutes or until soft.
Step 3: Add the spinach and cook for 3-5 minutes more.
Step 4: Puree the ingredients in a food processor or blender, using a little of the cooking liquid to get a desired smooth consistency (usually 1-2 tablespoons). You can also use breast milk or formula to mix with the puree to make it smoother.
