Saucy Beef Baby Puree

Beef is rich in protein, calcium, folate and iron. Beef is commonly used in baby food purees but don't forget about beef bone broth because that is also highly nutritious and contains amino acids and glutamine which are essential for a healthy gut lining. Home made beef bone broth can be used to thin down purees and make them smoother. When serving beef to my baby I always try to get a grass fed beef as the meat develops with different characteristics than grain fed.

Beef is so awesome that I’ve done quite a few recipes containing it. Some are complicated, for older kids, and some are simple for pureed baby food. You can get it here http://littlemashies.com.au/free. All of my recipes can be used with or without Little Mashies squeeze containers, you don’t have to buy my product to benefit from the recipe ebook, it’s just something I’ve put together after about 10,000 emails asking me to ☺ enjoy! Saucy Beef Baby Puree

Ingredients:
2 small potatoes, peeled and diced
250g stewing beef, cubed
2 carrots, peeled and diced
2 tomatoes, mashed
1 cup homemade vegetable stock or water

Instructions:
Step 1: In a large deep skillet, over medium heat, combine the potatoes, beef, carrots, and mashed tomato and cook until soft. Add stock or water to keep the mixture moist whilst cooking.

Step 2: Cover and simmer until potatoes are of mashing consistency, and the liquid is almost gone (about 20-30 minutes), add additional liquid as needed to keep the mixture from browning.

Step 3: Remove ingredients from heat and place in a food processor or blender. Puree using a little extra liquid to get the desired smooth consistency.
