Homemade Yoghurt For Healthy Kids Snacks
Homemade Yoghurt For Healthy Kids Snacks
Ingredients:
1 litre whole organic milk
60 grams plain whole milk yoghurt with live and active yoghurt cultures
Instructions:
Step 1: Sterilize a litre jar by washing it, rinsing it and then pouring boiling water in it and allowing it to sit for three minutes. Carefully drain out the water (it will be very hot) and let the jar air-dry.
Step 2: Warm the milk in a saucepan until it reaches 82ºC and then remove it from the heat.
Step 3: Allow the milk to cool to 45ºC and then stir in the yoghurt.
Step 4: Pour the mixture into the sterilized jar, place the lid on and put it in a warm spot (not sunny) in the kitchen where it can remain undisturbed for 10 to 12 hours. The longer the yoghurt stands the more tart the yoghurt will be. You could use the oven with the pilot light on, or place it wrapped in a towel in a slow cooker, or just in a warm spot.
Step 5: Chill the yoghurt completely in the refrigerator for 3hrs.
Step 6: Spoon into Little Mashies pouches for snacks on the run. Store them in the fridge until you need them.
PS - If you wish to use Little Mashies to feed your bubba baby food whilst out and about (or just save money or have the convenience of a pouch), just go to my online store here.
I’d love if you could please SHARE Little Mashies with your friends. Word of mouth is how my business grows and it also allows me to help as many people as possible. My goal is to show all parents how cheap and easy it is to make healthy baby food at home.
Lots of love,
Talisha and Ariella (the mum and bub behind Little Mashies)
Yoghurt is a yummy and healthy first food for your baby. It is a product of bacterial fermentation of milk and has plenty of good bacteria, usefull for the digestive tract of babies. It is also rich in proteins and calcium, important for strong bones.
