Pear is usually one of the first fruits recommended by doctors because it is so uncommon for allergies and it helps soften the stool. Babies love it because it is so sweet. It is rich in simple sugars and fiber, so it is good for the digestive tract and helps with constipation. Often for those born with allergies and food intolerance peeled pear is one of the only fruits they can eat on the elimination diet. Pears can be stewed, steamed, baked, or fresh prior to being pureed for baby food.
Pear is so awesome that I’ve done quite a few recipes containing it. Some are complicated, for older kids, and some are simple for pureed baby food. You can get it here http://littlemashies.com/free All of my recipes can be used with or without Little Mashies squeeze containers, you don’t have to buy my product to benefit from the recipe ebook, it’s just something I’ve put together after about 10,000 emails asking me to ☺ enjoy!
