Apple, Banana and Cinnamon Rice Porridge

Banana is very soft and easy to make into a smooth puree so it's a really popular first food for babies. It's also a common thing to use for finger food as babies love smooshing it around with their hands and squashing it in their fingers. Most babies love banana puree alone or combined with other fruit or cereals. At home we freeze banana and then blend it to make a banana "ice-cream". Banana is rich in potassium and helps provide energy. Potassium is important for the nervous system and lack of potassium causes muscle weakness, so banana is a common thing to have after having an upset stomach.

I created a Baby Food recipe book with over 50 recipes in it to go with my Little Mashies squeeze containers, valued at $9.95 but really it should probably be more because its got a LOT in it! This year I am giving it to my followers in digital format for free (even if they don’t buy Little Mashies). I get so many emails from my followers asking for help with baby food recipes, and the purpose of my business has always been to help so it makes sense to just give away the digital version. So if you follow Little Mashies on Pinterest, Instagram or Facebook (I work on an honesty system) just go to http://littlemashies.com/free and you can access it by popping in your email address. It will then be emailed straight to you. I won’t share your details or sell them or anything crazy like that ☺ xx Talisha

1 ripe apple (200g), peeled, cored and diced
1/2 tsp. of ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:
Step 1:Steam the diced apples in a stovetop steamer or a Beaba Baby Cook system for about 10 minutes or until soft.

Step 2:Add cinnamon to cooked apple and banana and mash with a fork or purée the fruits in a food processor for a smoother consistency.

For older kids you could try making this in an oven safe dish with a crumble on top... omg delicious! This porridge is also fine to serve and freeze inside Little Mashies squeeze containers.
